Our two U.S. Embassy staff members, who have been loaned to us throughout the Games and work out of our office in the Main Press Center everyday. They transcribe the local papers for us to keep track of local coverage, attend press conferences to liaison with Chinese reporters, help translate and assist with anything else we need. They are very serious, soft-spoken, professional and hard working!

Sadly, Venus and Serena Williams were duds. During our time in the green room they reminded me of child actors who are stars and end up socially awkward. James Blake was terrific - charismatic and well spoken.
